Watchers

My relationship with Deviantart is a neglectful one. I'm so terrible!

If you'd like to chat with me and see what I'm up to on a regular basis, please check out my Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/scruffyrebelcosplay

Meanwhile, I will continue to throw photos up here, literally, once in a blue moon...

Hey Scruffy, I wanted to ask u a couple questions, I'm making an Ahsoka cosplay for my sister and I was curious about making the headpiece from wonderflex. If you could post a tutorial or give tips on molding and painting I'd really appreciate it. also I have an Obi-Wan Cosplay that's practically done but I wanted to know what u used for a fake beard in ur cosplay of him.

Many Thanks,
~GeneralKenobi153

Hi GK! Would love to help you out, but the wonderflex headpiece was many years ago, and was literally figured out in the process of making it. My boyfriend has an art background and he just kept tweaking and working with the wonderflex until it did what he wanted. I wouldn't recommend using it unless you have some natural knack for sculpting and shaping. Otherwise you might want to look up video tutorials of making sculpts and molds, and try to work towards making it out of something else like latex, silicone or foam.

As far as painting goes...I can't help you out there either. There isn't anything special to it...we just marked out the pattern with tape and painted it. It's pretty straight forward. The only issue is making sure you use proper paints for the proper surfaces - such as silicone only takes silicone paint. Otherwise I use acrylic paint for the majority of things.

And as for Obi-wan, just went to a wig shop and bought a beard. Then once I had it spirit-gummed onto my face, I looked at a picture of Obi-Wan and trimmed the beard to the correct shape/look.

Hey there, scruffyrebel. I've got a quick question. My friend is going as Darth Talon for Celebration VI and she's curious about how to make lekku. I know you've got Pam credited for your lekku, as do a lot of other people dressed as Twi'leks. Is there any way I could get into contact with him/her? If you could give me any information on the subject, that would be great! Thank you so much. :]

(I know I left this on your Oola picture, sorry to bug you about this but I'm kind of desperate! Ha ha, I hope you understand.)

Hey there!

Pam has a website. Just Google "pam" and "lekku" and it should come right up. I'm sure she has contact info on her website there. She's always on Rebel Legion I think if you are a member there...but I know I got in contact with her through her website originally when I was looking for lekku. Her website details her entire process of how she made them if you're interested in trying it yourself at some point. It's just a very expensive and time-consuming process, which is why so many of us prefer to buy it from someone who has already figured it all out!
