I've marked this with a warning for "mature" content because I'm nervous about upsetting anyone! I'm painted and have pasties, but yes, am mostly a whole lot of naked.
I don't have any good studio or scenery photos of this outfit, but I felt I needed to put up at least one photo of it.
I made an Oola costume and wore it at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con and Dragon*Con.
The lekku are latex and made by Pam. They're designed after the Aayla Secura design, or basically the Prequel Twi-Lek design - I know Oola has really long lekku in the OT but I didn't have time or money to go about making more authentic lekku myself.
The outfit consists of leather and black netting, with some metal on the headgear.
The body makeup is Reel Creation alcohol-based airbrush makeup that takes about two hours to be applied (very graciously by my boyfriend).
I wear pasties, which you can actually notice in this photo, but now I'm wearing a better brand that blends in better.
This is a ridiculously time-consuming costume to wear, and a lot of trouble...but also a lot of fun in the end...until it's time to take the makeup off and I'm stuck in the bathroom for another hour >.>
Hey there, scruffyrebel. I've got a quick question. My friend is going as Darth Talon for Celebration VI and she's curious about how to make lekku. I know you've got Pam credited for your lekku, as do a lot of other people dressed as Twi'leks. Is there any way I could get into contact with him/her? If you could give me any information on the subject, that would be great! Thank you so much. :] AMAZING costume, by the way. Oola has always been my favorite Star Wars character!
What kind of Airbrush do you use for application? I am in the process of making an Aayla Secura costume and I was wondering what brand to go for. Gorgeous costume by the way.
Hi! I use Reel Creations for the Oola makeup, and Skin Illustrator when I do Ahsoka...it's purely based on who has the better colors for the characters. I mix colors to get the Oola color, and I know a lot of girls have mixed colors to get a particular shade of blue for Aayla.
